BAUHAUS - BURNING FROM THE INSIDE

The last album, released in 1983. Peter Murphy had been sick while they were recording much of this album so they felt that they could get along with out him. Its too bad. While Love and Rockets and Peter Murphy went on to make great music, the music that Bauhaus made as a team IMHO was original and never able to be made by anyone else. The exact chemistry structure that all the members created together could not and has not been repeated. Even in this album compare "slice of life" to "She's in Parties". Slice of Life is more a normal pop song, albeit very good. But when you have Murphy singing on "She s in Parties", the extra element is added which turns the tune from a pop tune into a gothic dub off kilter classic. Its too bad. I could have used at least another 4 Bauhaus records. Well, buy this LP for She s in Parties alone. Although the whole album is a bit more "accessible" than their others anyway.
