XIU XIU - XIU FUTHER MUCKING XIU

A nice collection of covers - which xiu xiu do a lot of. (check out twin peak serial covers also available), and an ep that was not widely available and gone by now with six songs on it. So, they like putting the covers down. On this album we find it seems a concentration of 80s electro synth or new wave tunes. Well everybody loves "psycho killer", so how can you not cover that. And whether you like it or not "warm leatherette" is covered here. Everyone likes to cover that song even though the original was / is not well known. But it is nice that they covered Hamburger lady for anyone (like myself) that was weirded out by this song as a pre teen. But "i put a spell on you" .ehh, i guess to put some tune on the album that EVERYONE knows. Anyway,... originally only available to xiu xiu subscribers, now open to all us plain folk. Its worth it to hear the xiu xiu sound on these covers. Daniel Johnston everyone SHOULD listen to and Sex Dwarf by Soft Cell is good considering that everyone only knows tainted love itself a cover. Yeah, so this album is worth having in your collection xiu xiu fan or not, and actually good interpretations of the songs which make them sound original. 1. "Psycho Killer" Talking Heads 4:05 2.
